Test Your Casting Speed with Quicast

Casting videos, photos, and music from your phone is a seamless and impressive experience. However, you may experience lag occasionally. How would you test the speed of your Chromecast or Android TV? You can use a new app, Quicast.

As shown in the video above, after you download the app to your phone, you can search for available cast devices. When you select one, the casted device will begin a speed test using speedof.me. It connects to the nearest server and begins a series of tests by downloading and uploading sample data. After about a minute, the results will be displayed. You can check if there’s a network issue or something wrong with your cast device connected to your Wi-Fi.

As a quick note, this works for video casting only, not audio casting.
