Vizio Brings Google Cast to More TV Lines

Vizio recently announced news that its top-of-the-line P-Series TVs would be adding support for Google Cast in lieu of a full smart TV platform and that users would also receive tablets that could be used as a remote.

Now, it seems like Vizio is expanding that to the rest of its lineup. They’ve announced that its low-end TV model, the E-Series, and its mid-range TV model, the M-Series, are soon going to start supporting Google Cast. This is part of a hardware refresh, and these lines themselves have just been announced.

Much like the rest of Vizio’s TVs, the pricing is fairly aggressive. The M-Series, which has both 4K and HDR, starts with a 50-inch model for $850. The E-Series meanwhile is a 4K TV starting at $470 for a 43-inch model. Each TV set comes bundled with their tablet that includes Vizio SmartCast and makes it easy for users to get started with casting content.

Does Vizio’s attempt to support Google Cast and not a full smart TV platform a good cost savings, or do you think the tablet is adding unnecessary costs that could used for a mature TV platform? Let us know in the comments below.
