Alto’s Adventure Gets TV-Specific Port

For the past many months, anyone could install Alto’s Adventure to their TV and play without any problems. It worked fine most of the time and the interface looked really nice on a television. Unfortunately the mobile-optimized ads didn’t scale very well.

The game studio which developed Alto’s Adventure, Noodlecakes Studio Inc, has come up with a great solution that does away with the ads entirely on Android TV to give users a richer experience.

For those of you who haven’t played, you play as a skiier who is going down a mountain. You can do jumps and flips to avoid obstacles and collect more points. You are given achievements to accomplish and your goal is to get these. The graphics and music are really nicely done, and it’s a great example of interactive art.

Because the studio is removing ads entirely for TVs, they had to create a new Google Play listing so they could give it a price. I’m not convinced this was really a better option than some ad removal IAP or just finding an ad SDK that works well on TVs.

If you are interested in downloading, it can be purchased for $4 on Google Play. If you want us to do this game in our next Let’s Play, let us know in the comments below.
