Fiber TV Gets Some Android TV Looks

For those lucky enough to be a Fiber subscriber and have Fiber TV expect a UI/UX refresh that shares feels and looks with Android TV. Announced in a blog post by the Fiber team this is the biggest update since 2012. As you can see in the pictures below they weren’t kidding.

In an attempt to better recommendation and discovery Google has added helpful information like Rotten Tomatoes ratings to the program description. And reorganized the DVR to make it easier to navigate your recordings.

Similar to it’s distant cousin Android TV it’s getting something that is a bit of an Android TV selling point, the recommendation and smart search( Universal). An example of it in action is shown below.

After adding Google Cast earlier this year the Fiber TV team is on a roll and making Fiber customers their first priority and not extorting them like other ISPs. If you’re a Fiber TV subscriber, you don’t have to do a thing. New customers will get the new Fiber TV as soon as they’re installed. Current customers will automatically get access in the coming weeks.
