JBL Playlist Company’s First Google Cast Speaker

IFA 2016 has been full of new exciting toys and one in particular is the JBL Playlist because it’s the first device from the company to be Google Cast enabled. This is long overdue and I don’t know what’s taken other besides LG to implement it, but besides that it also has one touch play for Spotify Connect for all of us Spotify subscribers. It’s quality will play up to 24bit/96kHz which is pretty standard at this point for high quality speakers.

Finally for those minimalist they can have their JBL speaker without an CC Audio hiding somewhere. Like JBL’s other speakers, it can play music via Bluetooth 4.2 and a 3.5mm port for wired connections. Lastly there’s Multiroom support through Google Cast too, but it seems like you can’t connect two in stereo mode like other JBL speakers can and the playlist must be plugged up, no battery power here.

The Playlist will be officially sold in October for an MSRP of EUR 179 or GBP 150. Available colors are black, white, and blue. Nothing for now for us US residents *Sad Face*
