Plex Adds Auto-Uploading Your Media to Plex Server

This is late news, as it was announced nearly a month ago, but it’s still really neat. Android users who have a Plex Pass recently received an update to the Plex app which adds an auto-upload feature. When enabled, it will automatically backup any photos or videos that you’ve taken to your Plex server. This is similar to apps like Google Photos, although this keeps it on your personal server instead of to Google.

Now any videos you record will be easily accessible to all of your devices, since it is uploaded to your Plex Server and then streamable to any other device. Another highlighted feature is the automatic grouping of photos and videos into albums so you don’t have to switch between photos and videos. They are alongside one another, making recaps more vivid and immersive.

Plex is free to download from Google Play, although a Plex Pass is $5 / month.
