[Rumor] The New Fire TV OS Will Block Apps Like Kodi

News outlet Cord Cutters News has received reports from sources close to the new Fire TV OS that 3rd party apps such as Kodi will be blocked by the new Fire OS. A new update this fall would garden off non app store apps from installing their way onto Fire OS devices. Being only a rumor nothing is confirmed so don’t take it so close to the heart but according to Cord Cutters News it’s creditable. This isn’t the first time Kodi has been shot down by Amazon and i’m sure it won’t be the last, last year they removed Kodi from their app store after they claimed Kodi was “facilitating piracy” which is really a legal grey area but I guess Amazon is playing better safe than sorry with Hollywood.

Amazon PR contacted Cord Cutters News with the following statement after their original story.

“There is no change planned for 3P app/dev support currently available on Fire TV”.

So I’ll leave it for you guys to decide if they’re just covering it till they silently let it happen or if someone is just pulling our chains with false info.
