Google Banners Gain A White Background In New Redesign

Google has been fairly quiet with most of their apps on Android TV lately and the last time we saw a white banner background get added to a Google app on Android TV was Play Movies & TV a couple of months ago.

As of late last night and today that changes for two apps so far the Google Play Store and Google Play Games. The change log for Google Play Games is as followed:

WHAT’S NEW

3.7.22
– Gamer IDs now available. Set up your gamer identity today by creating a custom username and selecting an avatar
– Auto-sign in to all games that use Play Games for sign-in
– Bug fixes and other improvements

In the featured image of this article you can tell that Google Play Games has changed its banner but my Play Store banner hasn’t yet on my SHIELD TV . The Play Store appears to have gained new app card styles that look about half the size of normal banners and display only the title of the app or game but no developer or price, so i’m not sure what Google is going for there. So thanks to Google+ user Michael Lumley we have a glimpse of what that looks like below and the build number appears to be 7.1.16. This could be an A/B test or a staged roll out, let us know what you think and if you got it in the comments below.
