HBO Now Update Supports Some Android TVs

If you look at what’s new in the HBO Now app on Google Play, you’ll see a delightful changelog. It says the app now supports Android TV. I have not played around with the app yet, but it should be similar to the phone experience.

HBO Now, for those of you who don’t know, is HBO’s premium video service akin to Netflix. You can watch all the latest HBO content without having to pay for a cable subscription.

HBO Now has already had Chromecast support, but now you have a dedicated device to playing all your shows.

According to Android Police, it seems like device compatibility is very limited. Only Sony TV owners and ADT-1 owners are able to download the app now. Hopefully this is a small mistake on HBO’s part and will be fixed shortly.
