Android TV as a platform is all about content consumption. The biggest apps are around music and video, and there’s also an equal focus around games. As a gaming platform, Android already has thousands of games, although not all of them have support for Android TV. That’s unfortunate, because playing games on a TV with a game controller is a great experience that is possible.
To help get developers interested in supporting a TV, Google seems to be helping with marketing. Recently, they soft launched this collection of 127 Android TV games, paid and unpaid, that you can download and play.
Most of the games have support for TV consoles in the same store listing so it is easy to download the same app on all your Android devices. Additionally, many of the games have varying support for Google Play Games: achievements, leaderboards, and cloud saving.
If you’re feeling bored one day you should download one, or one hundred, of these games. This, combined with new game categories and discovery in the Play Store, indicate that Google is keeping games as a huge focus in marketing this platform.
