NBC News Arrives on Android TV, News for All

NBC is one of the four major broadcasting networks in the US. It’s a big player in news, with MSNBC as its 24/7 news channel. With its ample amount of content, it makes sense for them to expand and target cordcutters with endless news.

They just published an Android TV app which gives users quick access to all of its news shows: MSNBC, Meet the Press, Nightly News, and more.

You can open each show and from there start browsing categories in each show. You can view a variety of recent clips that have been posted per show or watch them all in the “Top News” section. Playback happens quickly and works in the background, allowing you to open the browsing menu again and quickly pick something else. When clips end there’s one more after. You can see that by pressing up from the video.

There is a setting to enable and change the UI of the closed captioning, which is becoming a requirement for broadcasters to put even in online video.

The app is free to download and watch on Android TV. There are video ads which will appear in between clips.
