The Economist Brings their Films to Android TV and Chromecast

We are living in an era of great change. Cars are beginning to drive themselves, Great Britain just left the European Union, and technology continues to connect us in new ways. With this uncertainty comes a lot of questions, and chances to learn more about each of these situations. The Economist, a weekly paper covering world news and economics, also has a filmmaking department which features a handful of documentary series covering things like travel and upcoming technology.

This week, the app received an update that brings their videos to more platforms.

First version of The Economist Films on Android TV & Chromecast

Much like you can on mobile and the web, you’re able to browse each of these series and documentaries and watch them for free. It would be cool if they went further, curating this content into a Live Channel. Al-Jazeera attempted a broadcast channel, though was unsuccessful in doing so, and settled for an on-demand Android TV app. However, The Economist may be able to transition easily into a live stream of interesting economic and world news.

It’s free to download on Google Play.
