The story which was released by Slashgear states an Anonymous source with info on the matter said that this year’s CES wouldn’t be all about automotive as it has been in years past. 2017 CES will bring a new NVIDIA SHIELD TV to us which is very exciting, and personally, I can’t wait to get my hands on the new device and to see how it compares to the original SHIELD TV which single handily has carried the Android TV platform. The source also had mentioned the naming convention would stay the same because if it’s not broke why fix it or confuse consumers and The SHIELD Controller will begin to rely on Bluetooth Low Energy instead of Wi-Fi Direct. Nothing was said in regards to the remote thought, and the controller will be thinned out and better battery optimization. This revision of the SHIELD TV could be similar to the SHIELD tablet regarding 1st to second gen to make an affordable price beyond it’s first gen counterpart.
As the company suggests, this keynote will include four categories: “artificial intelligence, self-driving cars, VR, and gaming.” I hope to see the SHIELD possibly make an appearance in VR being the host device, but that’s just a pipe dream for now. As for gaming, we know it will be showing up in some capacity. Hopefully, we’ll get new news about GeForce Now too. We won’t find out more till Jen-Hsun Huang hit’s the stage for the keynote at CES 2017 Wednesday, January 4th, 2017 at 6:30 PM Pacific Time.
