Sony Announces New OLED UHD TVs

Sony has been one of Android TV’s original partners, and they continue with a new line of UHD, HDR TVs that now use OLED technology. The XBR-A1E have greater contrast and colors than previous Sony TVs, making HDR content look even better. These new TVs will run Android TV, giving them access to the Google Assistant.

This does confirm the rumor that started circulating last month. With OLED, individual pixels can be controlled, allowing them to be turned off selectively to make blacks truly black. This new TV set is thin and looks fantastic.

The X930E/X940E series are LED TVs that have a newer version of their Slim Backlight tech to make the displays brighter while maintaining good contrast.

Pricing and launch dates will be announced at a later date.
