[APK Download] Casting not Working? Update Cast Receiver

Chromecast v2
As new versions of the Chromecast and software updates to Marshmallow were being sent out to consumers, these same consumers found themselves stymied when they actually tried to cast something. Cast failure has become very common over the past week, with many people complaining. Fortunately, there’s an update to the Cast Receiver for Android TV that should fix all of the bugs. It should be live in the Play Store now, but you can also download the files from APK Mirror.

If your device is ARM, download here. If your device is x86, download here.

A Redditor by the name of navytank, who claims to work on the Cast for Android TV team, has chimed in as to what caused these bugs to appear. They claim that four separate SSL bugs ended up breaking stuff server-side, but that should be resolved now. Casting should work just like before. If you have a new Chromecast, it’s possible that casting will work even better now. Let us know in the comments below.
