YouView Comes to Sony TVs in the UK

YouView is a platform that integrates online services in the UK like BBC’s iPlayer with ordinary TV. As a service it was already been integrated with some set-top boxes from companies such as TalkTalk. However, the latest update to Sony’s Android TVs in the UK brings YouView directly to TV sets for the first time.

The electronic programming guide (EPG) on these devices has now been replaced with YouView, giving you access to shows from a cable provider along with the BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, All 4, and Demand 5. In addition to being accessible in the guide, these are also available as apps on the launcher of the TV.

The software update needed to access YouView should’ve been accessible last week, so users should be able access it now.
