Live Channels Displays Now Playing Card

Android TV apps have gotten a handful of improvements this week, with bug fixes and optimizations. Additionally, there have been some small front-facing improvements as well. The Leanback Launcher lets you rearrange items on screen. Now Live Channels have been updated.

There are not a lot of noticable changes, but the biggest is the Live Channels app now displays a Now Playing card on the launcher, giving more information as to what you’re watching.

You can update it from the Google Play Store. It seems to be rolling out pretty quickly, but it can be sideloaded from APK Mirror as well.

I will comment that the app seems much more stable than before on my ADT-1. I was running into issues where scrolling through the guide would cause the entire system to freeze. Granted, I do have a lot of channels installed, but there seemed to be much left to be desired. The app will still crash on occasion, but it returns you to the launcher instead of forcing a hard reset.
