PBS to debut a free 24/7 live channel for kids this year

Good news everybody! everyone’s favorite public broadcaster has plans to make a round the clock live channel titled “PBS Kids stream” available for kids this year (2016). Along with Android TV it’s also making its way to the following: Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Xbox One, Chromecast and your Phone/Tablet. Users of the current PBS Kids app rejoice because this live channels is complementing the already existent on demand app.

The PBS KIDS 24/7 channel will include popular favorites, such as DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD, ODD SQUAD, WILD KRATTS and DINOSAUR TRAIN; the new series NATURE CAT and READY JET GO!, which debuted February 15; and SPLASH (w.t.), a series from The Jim Henson Company that will premiere in fall 2016. Stations will be able to provide the PBS KIDS 24/7 channel in addition to their current primary PBS channel, which will continue to feature a PBS KIDS day part. The schedule of children’s programming on the primary PBS channel will be different from the 24/7 channel, offering families a variety of options.

Post launch PBS hopes to add interactive games and activities. No official date as of yet but when one is announced you’ll hear about it!
