It’s the first Monday of May, and that means there are some new factory images and OTAs for Google’s Nexus line. These are the monthly security patches include bug fixes and optimizations and are released on a monthly cycle. Google has posted the security bulletin to explain the major risks that have been fixed in the May release.
Starting this month the name of the security bulletins was changed from Nexus to Android to lessen the confusion and keep the message of updates for all Androids and not just their Nexus line. New criteria for evaluating severity levels has been adjusted accordingly and this month the latest security update addresses 6 critical, 12 high, 6 moderate, and 1 low-level issue.
Download the factory image page to download the updates for your devices, or sit back and wait for the OTAs to roll out over the next week or so.
