Google Home adds new Music and Castable Video Partners

At this morning’s keynote, Google announced a number of new capabilities for Google Home. Of particular note are music and video services that can be automatically called and played.

For music services like Spotify, which now works even for free tier users, the playback can happen straight on the device itself. For video services, like YouTube, the video can be found and cast onto nearby devices like your Android TV or Chromecast. Newly announced today also include Soundcloud and Deezer, two large music services.

All of the new supported services announced today

If you want to quickly cast video to your TV, you can use your voice. This has currently worked on a few services like YouTube, but they announced many more today. All of them are shown above in the screenshot. Notable inclusions are HBO Now and Hulu.

This is just one of the announcements related to Google Home today.
