New Android TV Box from Technicolor In Israel

Android TV seems to be very popular with OTT providers and Technicolor seems to be the vendor of choice. Israel operator Partner Communications Ltd. launched this week an Android TV box in Tel Avi. The company is offering a television service without Netflix for NIS 69 monthly, rising to NIS 89 monthly if Netflix is included. This is the cheapest price in Israel.

The converter will an Android TV converter with 4K capability, and our remote control gives the full story to those wishing to relax and enjoy the best content available today. The television always starts at the last channel you watched. To navigate, press on the home screen to get the list of channels.

The remote will have a dedicated YouTube button and will have full Play Store access, beyond this the specs aren’t known, but it’s enough for 4k. It’s interesting to see Android TV take off globally then just limited to the US market even if it’s only in provider’s boxes.

I know that in Sweden one of the largest cable TV and broadband operators Com Hem has chosen the Technicolor set-top box which runs Android TV.
Initially they have requested 160 000 units which is the largest amount (for a single set-top box) in Scandinavia.
