Google Assistant is meant to be a singular place to go to control your house, whether through Google Home, your phone, or your TV in the future. With that being said, the software needs to have a broad range of support for the many products in your home, and provide intercompatibility between all of them. As they don’t use industry standards but rather proprietary APIs, Google engineers have slowly been adding in support for various products.
The most recent additions were identified by Android Police and posted in the Google Assistant If you use Emberlight for lighting, or smart devices from iHome, Levitron, or Samsung’s Artik (for Legrand), you can now interface with them through Google Assistant.
It should be easier than ever to control all the devices in your home. Many of the devices above already work with Amazon’s Alexa platform, so supporting Google Home is an additional bonus.
