Showtime Anytime Updated to Support Android TV

Showtime, the TV and movie channel, has had a standalone subscription service for interested viewers for a few months. However, though cable subscriptions are dropping, many people still pay for cable and Showtime is included in that cable subscription. What if one of those customers wanted to use an app? The answer is their TV app, Showtime Anytime, which now supports Android TV.

It is similar to its mobile app, where you are able to browse through and watch a variety of their original shows. For episodic content, once a new episode airs, it will soon be added to stream on-demand. If you don’t want to wait, you can stream the channels live to your Android TV for both the east and west streams. This doesn’t integrate into the Live Channels app, but it does still work in the app itself.

Like similar TV anywhere apps, you have to authenticate with your cable provider before you can start using it. Unfortunately for Comcast users, they cannot take advantage of this service on their Android TV.
