Twitter Partners with Large E-Sport Leagues to Stream Competitions

Twitter has continued to boost their live streaming capabilities through their app. In addition to sports like the NFL, they are now partnering with ESL and DreamHack, two major e-sport leagues. As e-sports continue to grow in popularity, having these deals will allow Twitter to continue becoming a major media organization.

The deal will include streaming several competitions, including this Saturday’s StarCraft II championship. ESL will also be producing thirty-minute original shows that will act as analyses of the games including highlights and behind-the-scenes footage. Twitter will be putting video ads on these streams in order to earn revenue.

Live Twitter videos can be viewed using the Twitter TV app which is available on Google Play.
