New Games on Android TV – Week of April 23

There’s a lot of games being launched on Android TV, and we may not have time to cover them individually. These weekly posts give brief summaries of many new games that are being published. If you know of a new game, or find one we missed, let us know in the comments below.

General Games

Guardians of the Galaxy TTG

Telltale Games, a popular gaming studio that turns media franchises into games. In this game, split across five “episodes”, you can play as the characters from the movie Guardians of the Galaxy (whose sequel is being released soon). It should be noted that this game only runs on a handful of GPUs. For example, it seems to be supported on my NVIDIA Shield, but not my Nexus Player.

Miami Crime Furious Gangster

In this teen-rated game, you play as a vice town gangster in a city in Florida. To succeed, you must rise up the ranks from a petty robber to a Don. Similar to GTA games, you play in an expansive city and can take on various missions. Be assured that the game features “[r]ealistic gangsters brawl”.

Maze Planet 3D 2017

Do you enjoy solving mazes? Well now you can do so in three dimensions, not two like any pedestrian. In this game, you need to get a ball to the end of the maze by rolling it through a planet-wide maze.

Sigi

This game, technically published last month, is a common platformer game. It has a similar vibe to Mario, although you play as a knight. You defeat zombies, mummies, and other such creatures to reach the end of each level.

NVIDIA-Exclusive Games

Have an NVIDIA Shield TV? NVIDIA’s Lightspeed Studios works with game developers to make their games available on the platform.

Clustertruck

In this chaotic game, players try to get to the end of each level by hopping on the top of trucks. You can’t touch the ground! Each level is full of physics challenges that make the levels tricky to complete.

The Final Station

In this game, you play the role of a conductor who tries to get passengers safely to their destination. But in this dystopian setting there’s often action involved in order to protect the passengers and gather supplies.
